The San Gabriel District Finance Committee manages all of the district-wide activities related to unit and district fundraising.  The committee has three primary responsibilites:

  • review and approve Unit fundraising activities
  • Popcorn sales
  • Friends of Scouting

The Capitol Area Council has a very informative website related to the costs of Scouting and how funds are raised here.

Units that plan on conducting their own fundraising actvities need to complete this form and then send it to the Council office.  The completed Unit Money-Earning Application may be hand delivered, mailed or faxed to the Capitol Area Council Scout Office at 7540 Ed Bluestein Blvd, Austin, Texas 78723-2399, Phone: 512-926-6363 or 1-800-444-1910, Fax: 512-926-6870.

Friends of Scouting online donantions may be made at this website.

Clays Sales Can Net Unit Great Prize

Our council's Sporting Clays Shoot fundraiser will take place Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Texas Disposal Systems Exotic Game Ranch. This event annually helps raise money to fund Scouting programs across our 15-county area.

This year, the Sporting Clays committee would like to offer any interested units the opportunity to help sell teams to this event - and earn a terrific prize in return. The unit that sells the most teams (minimum $3000 in team sales) will win a weekend campout at the Texas Disposal Systems Exotic Game Ranch, complete with all meals prepared for them and a VIP tour of the exotic wildlife that lives on the ranch. No group has ever been allowed to camp overnight at the TDS ranch before.

If interested, please CLICK HERE to see the team sales brochure. If you have any questions, please contact Finance Director Doug Cooper at 512-413-0086 (cell) or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
