Troop 151 was originally formed in 1922 as Georgetown Troop 1, and except for a brief interval in the late 60s has been serving Georgetown and surrounding communities ever since. The troop presently consists of about 50 boys – large enough to support a wide variety of activities, with something to appeal to almost any boy’s interests. Our troop (like all good scout troops) utilizes the patrol method in its operation. This means the boys really do run the troop.
If our meetings seem chaotic, realize that’s to be expected as it is a natural result of being boy-led! We camp at least once a month. Most campouts are short-term, usually beginning on a Friday afternoon or evening and ending on Sunday afternoon. We also offer summer camp in June, winter camp in December, and usually at least one high- adventure camp for older scouts each year.

Troop 151 has a philosophy of being focused on outdoor activities (especially camping!) and having fun together. We have found that if we put our energy into these, that the boys’ advancement and growth will follow naturally. We offer a full scouting program wherein each boy can learn outdoor skills, have a good time, but still have an opportunity to experience leadership commensurate with his experience, interest, and available opportunities. He’ll learn the skills needed to be a real outdoorsman, and eventually will learn to teach and lead other Scouts. Our Scouts plan and run their own program with encouragement and guidance from the adult leaders. Our list of Eagle-scouts is long and most boys in the Troop do achieve that rank if they stay active and involved.

Troop meetings: Every Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Scout Hut in San Gabriel Park

Troop 155 is an outdoor-oriented troop which focuses heavily on backpack and primitive style camping. The Troop is boy led, with older Scouts directing the flow of meetings and campouts. Since being chartered in 1975, Troop 155 has conferred the Eagle rank to 58 Scouts. Troop numbers typically average around 30 Scouts and 15 adults. The troop camps at least once a month and frequents state parks within a 3 hour radius of Georgetown. Typical campouts involve hikes of two to fifteen miles in a weekend. The Troop has an active Order of the Arrow group and active Eagle Scouts participating in the meetings and campouts.

Troop meetings: The troop meets on the 2nd Sunday of each month at the Liberty Hill VFW in the downtown area of Liberty Hill, Texas. Meetings start promptly at 4:00 p.m. and end between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m.

Troop 196 is an advancement- oriented unit. We have an excellent record of encouraging every boy to become an Eagle Scout. Teenage boys need encouragement and someone to push them hard to get their community service projects completed. However, we do realize that many boys are involved in activities other than scouts. We work around school, sports and community schedules. So don't feel like you have to give up something to join us!

Troop meetings: Every Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Crestview Baptist Church at 2300 Williams Drive. We meet in the southwest end of the facility.

Troop 405 has been chartered for 22 years with 139 Eagle Scouts during that period. We've earned the Quality Unit designation and National Camping Award each year since Troop 405 began. We are a youth led troop featuring the complete Scouting program. Webelos are welcome to visit at any time but give us a few days notice so our Senior Patrol Leader will be ready for visitors. We are a "full uniform" troop. This means our Scouts don't wear blue jeans to troop meetings.

In June, we attended summer camp at the George W. Pirtle Scout Reservation, an East Texas Area Council Camp near Carthage TX. Our Scouts enjoyed the camp so much they decided to return so we've booked the week of June 7-13, 2009.  During 2009, we will also take a group of Scouts and adults to Hawaii for  two weeks, including a week at a Scout camp on either Oahu or Maui.

Since 1989, we've had at least one annual high adventure trip. We go to the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico for backpacking or horseback riding as often as possible. In July, we attended the Laguna Station, a sea base on the tip of South Padre Island.  Normally, Scouts must be at least age 13 to attend high adventure trips. For Philmont, Scouts must be at least age 14 by January 1st of the year attending. Our campout at Enchanted Rock in November is an excellent campout for Webelos and parents to attend. Most of our other monthly campouts are also appropriate for Webelos except those involving canoeing or rafting (Webelos aren't allowed to canoe or raft in most instances). For additional information or to schedule a visit to a troop meeting or campout, contact Scoutmaster Calvin Gray.

Troop meetings:

Our troop is different than most troops in that we use the theme of the Lewis & Clark era and Mountain Men to introduce and grow Scouts. Our summer camps are 22 - 32 day adventures through the western US, Canada and Alaska. We also take Spring Break trips to the Big Bend, McDonald Observatory and Fort Davis in Texas. Tomahawk throwing, fire by friction, black powder shooting and many activities related to Mountain Men!
