The San
Gabriel District invites you to participate in
Introduction to Outdoor Leader
Skills
October 4th & 5th 2013
IOLS is a
fun-filled program of hands-on skills training in the outdoors, designed to
help you master basic camp skills required for Tenderfoot thru First Class.
Instructors
will help you learn how to set up camp, cook, knots and lashings, first aid,
planning campfire programs, map reading and compass skills, hiking and packing
techniques, nature identification and Leave No Trace. Each outdoor session will
bring to life the pages of the Boy Scout Handbook to help you deliver the
promise of Scouting to yourself and the youth you serve. It will increase your
comfort level and give you confidence as a trained, skilled leader. The program
will also give you the opportunity to work with other Scout leaders from your
area, meet new friends, and reinforce skill techniques with fellow unit
leaders.
Registered
Webelo 2 parents are encouraged to participate.
Get the Registration Form & details here. Registration is due no later than 9/4/13 along with your participation fee of $30. We have a campsite limit of 28 campers.
Pass the
word to other Boy Scout leaders. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the fun!
This course
will be at Berry Springs Park, campsites two and four, located in Georgetown.

It's the WILD WILD WEST in San Gabriel Park!
June 10-14
Cub Scout Day Camp
Cub Day Camp is a multi-level experience under the supervision of trained leadership (staff and parents), which takes place during the twilight hours of 5pm to 8:30 or 9pm. The program of activities provides fun and adventure in the outdoors at lovley, shady San Gabriel Park. Emphasis is placed on new experiences difficult to obtain in the usual indoor atmosphere.
This year's theme is "Wild Wild West".
Ideally, Cub Scout Day Camps involve participation of both Cub Scout leaders and parents to strengthen boys' benefit and growth with a good outdoor experience. Programs include cooking, academics, sports, nature, and aquatics.
Registration for Cub Scout Day Camp is open! Here’s the registration link
Cost is $80 ($20 rebate if you volunteer)
